Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Version provides a 10 to 12-hour lengthy epilogue

Enfilade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has an extra epilogue for those who are looking for more Enfilade related story to hopefully wrap some loose threads up.

In the latest issue of Fujitsu (thanks to Gets) there is an interview with director Tetsuya Takahashi, who confirms the length of the epilogue, called Future Connected. Interestingly, he says a lot more about what Monolith Soft is up to and what the team did when working on Enfilade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.

Apparently the epilogue was meant to be longer, but it would have reached the size of a paid DLC. Also, the epilogue would have chewed up resources meant for “development of new titles”.

Monolith Soft’s production team was split in three: one team on this game, another on a new, unannounced title, and a third that swapped back and forth.

Takahashi said that the Switch’s processing power has allowed them to improve the graphics, but they were not able to recover the original soundtrack and re-record with the same orchestra, so it has been remastered instead.

Enfilade Chronicles: Definitive Edition releases on May 29 for Nintendo Switch.
